Thousands rally in Washington D.C. demanding immediate ceasefire in Gaza

Washington DC (Quds News Network) – In a compelling show of solidarity, over 400,000 activists gathered in Washington, D.C., yesterday as part of the Global Day of Action, denouncing the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza.

The demonstrators, draped in Palestinian flags and keffiyehs, marched in solidarity with the Palestinian people on the 100th day of the genocide.

Chanting “Ceasefire now,” the protesters brandished banners and posters, conveying powerful messages like “Free Palestine,” “Stop the War on Gaza,” and “End Funding for Genocide.” Near the White House, impassioned speakers called on President Joe Biden to cease military and financial support for Israel.

Amidst the fervor, Palestinian Americans shared heart-wrenching stories of friends and family affected by the relentless violence in Gaza. One speaker declared, “President Biden can easily stop this madness by exerting pressure on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,” drawing applause from the impassioned crowd.

Simultaneously, cities worldwide echoed the sentiments of Washington, D.C. Mass protests surged in Paris, London, Amsterdam, Oslo, Uppsala, Milan, Tunis, Seoul, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, and Jakarta.

These demonstrations aimed to express solidarity with the Palestinian people and called for an immediate ceasefire, an end to the aggression on Gaza, and the urgent delivery of humanitarian aid to the region.

Since October 7 of last year, the Israeli aggression on Gaza has resulted in a staggering toll. The conflict has claimed the lives of 23,843 people, with an additional 60,317 injured, predominantly among children and women.

Beyond the human cost, the aggression has wrought extensive infrastructure damage, pushing the region into an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.
