Thousands gather in support of Palestine in London
London (QNN)- Thousands of protesters have gathered in central London on Saturday in solidarity with the people of Palestine, demanding freedom for Palestine.
The protest, organised by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), saw a large crowd block traffic near Victoria Embankment on Saturday afternoon, as more than 180,000 people were in Hyde Park for the pro-Palestinian protest.

In a tweet, the PSC said: “Join us to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people & call on the Gov to take action against Israel’s brutal violations of intl. law.”
At the rally, people waved Palestinian flags, held banners and chanted as they began their march towards Hyde Park.
Some demonstrators could be seen wearing costumes, masks and face paint, while others were draped in the Palestinian flag.
It said that the protest could be one of the largest pro-Palestine demonstrations in British history.

Groups of police watched as some protesters climbed bus stops and lampposts and wrote “Free Palestine” on walls.
Chants of “We are all Palestinians” could be heard during the march, and “What do we want? Justice! When do we want it? Now!”

As the crowd reached Downing Street, chants of “Boris Johnson, shame on you” rang out.
Demonstrators also chanted, “Free, free Palestine,” and, “Israel is a terror state.”
Others chanted, “End the aggression, stop the crimes, Israel out of Palestine.”
Placards read, “End the occupation,” “Stop bombing Gaza,” and, “Sanctions on Israel.”
Other protests are taking place across London, including an anti-racism protest to commemorate George Floyd, who died almost one year ago.
The pro-Palestine protest is taking place amid a ceasefire between the occupation state of ‘Israel’ and Gaza.
The ceasefire began on Friday, after 11 days of Israeli deadly aggression on the Gaza Strip, as 248 Palestinians were killed in the aggression, including 66 children and 39 women.
Protesters have also gathered in other cities in the UK, including Bristol, Peterborough and Nottingham.
In Manchester, thousands gathered in Piccadilly Gardens for an event being run by the Manchester Palestine Solidarity Campaign, with a number of other groups also taking part.
Meanwhile, there were around 500 people in Norwich, 350 in Bournemouth, 500 Derby, 250 Colchester, over 100 in Hastings and 40 Inverness.
Protests are also taking place in Paris, Dublin and other cities around the world.
