Ten protesters wounded during Israeli repression of anti-settlement protest

Qalqilya (QNN)- Ten Palestinians were wounded by Israeli rounds during the weekly anti-settlement protest in Kafr Qaddum in eastern Qalqilya.
Murad Ishtewi, the coordinator of the popular resistance in the village, said the peaceful protest started after Friday prayer. Dozens of Palestinians took part in the protest, rejecting the Israeli plans to annex parts of the West Bank and calling for resistance.
He added that Israeli forces attacked the protest immediately after it started using live and rubber-coated metal rounds as well as tear gas and stun grenades, causing two injuries with live rounds. Eight others were also wounded with rubber-coated metal rounds and tear gas.
Violent confrontations erupted in the area after locals discovered an Israeli ambush in one of the village’s abandoned houses, where they targeted villagers using tear gas.
Ishtewi added that Israeli soldiers broke into several houses in the village and threw tear gas canisters. They also opened fire at Palestinian women, who were on the roofs of their houses.
