Swedish Police Receive Over 700 War Crime Reports Related to Israel’s Gaza Genocide
Stockholm (Quds News Network)- The Swedish police task force for investigations into war crimes has received more than 700 reports related to Israeli attacks across Gaza since the start of the Israeli genocide.
Radio Sweden has reported that war crime reports related to Israeli attacks across Gaza have been filed by organisations and private citizens.
Most cases involve individuals suspected of being in Gaza and committing offences there, while others involve representatives or leaders who may not have been in Gaza, it added.
Prosecutor Reena Devgun confirmed that several investigations have been launched, without specifying the nature of the crimes or whether any Swedish nationals are among the suspects.
Prosecutors are looking to speak with people with connections to Sweden, who have been in Gaza or who can provide other forms of evidence and factors for the public.
Any testimony obtained through the investigations could be used in court proceedings in Sweden, in other countries, or through international bodies such as the International Criminal Court, and is therefore "very valuable," according to Devgun.
Human rights groups, including Amnesty, Human Rights Watch, and B'Tselem, have accused Israel of committing genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
Married Republican US envoy Morgan Ortagus is under scrutiny after reports linked her to a romantic relationship with a Zionist Lebanese banker tied to US and Israeli interests.
Videos of Israeli content creators making fun of Palestinians suffering without water, food and electricity have gone viral over the past two years during the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza.
Israel’s decision comes as it also revoked the licences of 37 international non-governmental organisations (INGOs) working in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, “blocking life-saving aid."
