Quds News Network

The Quds News Network (QNN) is facing a new cyberattack; this time it is happening on Wikipedia. A team of Wikipedia's editors, linked to Israel, is trying to create a false claim about the network, promoting false information about it, its role, and its editorial policy. This could adversely affect the network's ability to effectively reach its Palestinian, Arab, and international audiences across various platforms. Recently, those editors have intensively modified the description of the network on Wikipedia, presenting an incorrect description based on Israeli sources and others associated with the Israeli propaganda machine, in a clear breach of the website's core principles and its policy regarding the acceptance of descriptions, sources, and necessary revisions. QNN's page on Wikipedia has been edited with false claims about QNN's identity without any basis as part of a wider vicious campaign against journalism. The campaign aims at subjecting QNN to defamation to silence it and silence Palestine's voice, depending on misleading Israeli sources linked to Israel's propaganda machinery of defamation and misinformation. Quds News Network is a Palestinian independent and comprehensive youth news network, founded in 2011. Our correspondents are distributed across all cities of historic Palestine, voluntarily liberating themselves from the conditions of funders and parties. QNN does not adhere to any specific ideology, rather it aligns with the values of freedom, dignity, and the fulfilment of the Palestinian people's aspirations for their right to self-determination under international law and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We work professionally without succumbing to political propaganda. Our goals are to build common ground for the unity of the Palestinian internal front and create an electronic space characterized by credibility, with Palestine as our sole compass. Wikipedia's reliance on Israeli sources to describe Palestinian entities is neither logical nor fair. We urge the website administration to rectify this error, return to integrity in adopting sources and necessary revisions, and respond to the network's requests to accurately define itself on the site.
