Spain’s Pedro Sánchez: ‘No Real Estate Operation Can Cover Up Crimes’ in Gaza

Madrid (Quds News Network)- Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has strongly condemned US President Donald Trump’s plan to expel Palestinians from Gaza and turn the Palestinian land into a luxury destination. Speaking at a rally in the Basque Country on Saturday, Sánchez vowed that Spain would not allow such a plan to move forward.

“No real estate operation can cover up the disgrace, the crimes against humanity… that we have seen in Gaza in recent years,” Sánchez said. “We should not allow it. And from Spain, we will not allow it.”

Trump recently proposed that the US “take over” Gaza, expel its Palestinian population to neighboring countries, and transform the area into “the Riviera of the Middle East.” His comments have drawn widespread criticism.

Sánchez reaffirmed his commitment to a two-state solution where Palestinians and Israelis live in “peace, harmony, and safety.”

Sánchez also took aim at US Vice President JD Vance’s recent comments in Munich, where Vance encouraged European leaders to embrace far-right parties.

“What the international far-right wants is to destroy Europe from within,” Sánchez warned, calling it a “Trojan horse.”

He urged Spain’s conservative Popular Party to sever ties with the far-right Vox party. He also stated that right-wing groups remain silent as the US imposes tariffs on European goods, saying, “They are tough against the weak but servile to the powerful.”

Pedro Sánchez described the far-right as a “multinational” alliance of billionaires and neoliberals who aim to privatize social services, roll back human rights, and ignore climate change.

“If we accept it, we normalize it, and our defeat begins,” he said. “We need to raise our voice against this type of backsliding.”

With new US tariffs looming, Sánchez vowed to fight for Spanish workers and oppose trade wars. He also pledged to uphold international lawand defend multilateralism.

Besides leading Spain, Sánchez serves as president of Socialist International, a global organization promoting democratic socialism.
