Spain Calls Israel to Immediately Resume Humanitarian Aid to Gaza

Madrid (Quds News Network)- The Government of Spain has called on Israel to immediately resume the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza. Spain stressed that this is an international obligation and an urgent necessity in light of the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the besieged strip. Spain also reaffirmed their support for ongoing mediation efforts to bring peace to the region.

This call for aid resumption follows Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to halt all humanitarian aid entering Gaza. The move, which occurred after the first phase of the ceasefire expired, marks a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement.

Netanyahu’s office claimed that the decision was made in response to Hamas’ refusal to accept another plan proposed by US envoy Steve Wittekov. The plan sought to extend the ceasefire without progressing to the second phase, which includes Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. Israel also made it clear that it would not accept any further ceasefire unless Hamas releases all Israeli prisoners.

The halt of humanitarian aid is seen as a significant setback in efforts to address the dire conditions in Gaza, following more than 15 months of conflict.
