“Situation is extremely difficult” amid Israeli siege: North Gaza hospital director

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Marwan Sultan, the director of the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahiya in the northern Gaza Strip, has called for protection for medical staff, patients, and hospitals, stating that the “situation is extremely difficult” amid an Israeli siege that has lasted over 10 days.

The hospital director said in a statement this morning:

“Martyrs have arrived as a result of the occupation’s shelling on the Beit Lahiya project tonight, along with a large number of injured.

Victims, both martyrs and injured, continue to arrive at the hospital due to the targeting. Most of those targeted are children and women.

Two patients have died due to the siege imposed by the occupation on the Indonesian hospital and were buried within the hospital buildings.

We are overwhelmed by the number of injured and martyrs, and the situation is extremely difficult, unprecedented since the beginning of the aggression, with bombardment, siege, shortage of medical supplies, and power outages all occurring simultaneously.

We demand protection for medical staff, patients, and hospitals, and call for sufficient fuel to be supplied to operate the hospitals. We urge the Red Cross and international organizations to be present and active within the hospitals.”

At least 73 people were killed in an Israeli attack on north Gaza’s Beit Lahiya, last night. Many people remain trapped under rubble and the death toll is expected to rise, Gaza’s Government Media Office said.

The attack, which hit an entire residential block in Beit Lahiya housing project, is part of the ongoing campaign of ethnic cleansing and systematic genocide.

It comes amid a broader assault on northern Gaza, home to nearly 400,000 Palestinians, where the Israeli military has crippled the local healthcare system. Hospitals in the region, including Kamal Adwan Hospital and Indonesian Hospital, are under siege, with medical staff ordered to evacuate under threat. Israeli forces have also blocked fuel deliveries to hospitals, and communications in the area, including internet access, have been cut off, further deepening the humanitarian crisis.
