Shocking… leaked footage uncovers Israeli repression of Palestinian detainees
Occupied Naqab (QNN)- A leaked footage surfaced recently, uncovered the inhumane treatment of Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails.
In a report by Haaretz, the Israeli newspaper revealed video footage showing Hamas detainees in the Negev Desert jail, being repressed and brutally beaten up while being handcuffed.
The footage showcases 55 handcuffed detainees, thrown on the ground and kicked and beaten with sticks during an IPS repression of them on March 24, 2019.
According to Haaretz, the detainees were prevented from moving or talking and they were forced to remain in the same situation for long hours. The repression was one of the most violent in Israeli jails.
In March 2019, tensions prevailed in the Negev Desert jail after IPS installed cancerous jamming devices.
According to Haaretz, at the time the Israelis claimed that confrontations erupted in section 3, which pushed jailers to impose control in the section. However, surveillance footage proves that there were no confrontations and that the jailers only were the ones who used extreme violence.
On the same day of the footage, 15 detainees were taken to a hospital, two of them were in critical conditions.
