Shin Bet places summon notice into ex-detainee’s engagement flowers in Bethlehem

Occupied Bethlehem (QNN)- Israeli Shin Bet placed a summon notice into the flowers of Ahmad Adwin’s engagement.

While Ahmad Adwin, a former detainee, was busy preparing for his engagement, an unknown person arrived holding flowers for him. Ahmad thought that the flowers were to congratulate him, however, he found a summon notice placed inside the flowers, summoning him and his brother Ibrahim for interrogation by the Israeli Shin Bet.

Ahmad and Ibrahim were detained by the occupation state several times. Their brother Muhammad is currently serving a jail time of 12 years. They said that whenever Israeli forces raid Bethlehem they assault their family.

Former prisoners had said that the Israeli authorities make sure to keep them under pressure to make them feel that they are always controlled and watched by the occupation state.

Israeli authorities usually send phone messages to former prisoners and their families in order to threaten them.

Musab Shamasneh, a former prisoner, has been through a similar experience. Several months ago, during his wedding, a taxi driver arrived holding a gift for him and insisted on delivering it to him personally.

“When I left the wedding hall to meet the taxi driver, he told me that he has a special gift for me from someone he met in occupied Ramleh”, Shamasneh told QNN.

“When he left I opened the gift to find a letter from a Shin Bet officer. It was indirectly threatening me while it appeared as a congratulation letter.”
