Israel Hires Former Trump Advisor for $9M Campaign to Influence AI Platforms Like ChatGPT

Israel has hired a former Trump advisor to lead a $9 million campaign aimed at controling how AI platforms like ChatGPT and Claude present information about Israel.

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- Israel has launched a multimillion-dollar campaign to influence how artificial intelligence platforms present information about the occupation state, reported Axios. The effort targets systems like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, which play a growing role in shaping global public opinion.

The campaign is led by Brad Parscale, a former senior advisor and 2020 campaign manager for Donald Trump. Israel hired Parscale in September to oversee a digital strategy aimed at boosting pro-Israel narratives online. Officials and pro-Israel advocates have raised concerns that social media and AI platforms increasingly expose Israel and its crimes.

Parscale’s team partnered with Market Brew to develop methods that could shape how AI systems gather and present information. Instead of directly altering AI tools, the strategy focuses on producing structured, source-based content that AI models are more likely to retrieve when answering user questions.

As part of the campaign, the team built a network of websites designed to align with how AI systems process and rank information. These platforms publish content that presents Israel in a favorable light and emphasizes widely recognized positions, including the designation of Hamas resistance movement as a terrorist organization.

The strategists also created a simulated AI environment to test whether major platforms would pick up and reproduce content from these sites. According to the team, AI systems tend to favor material that appears factual, well-organized, and supported by credible sources.

Parscale’s firm claims the campaign has already influenced some AI-generated responses, although it has not released public data to support the claim. Independent checks show mixed results. In some cases, AI platforms did not cite or reflect the campaign’s content directly.

Israel has paid Parscale’s firm about $9 million and recently renewed the contract. The campaign also includes text messaging efforts and digital advertising to reinforce messaging across platforms.

The initiative comes as public opinion in the United States shifts. A recent survey by Pew Research Center found that 60% of Americans now hold unfavorable views of Israel, up from 53% the previous year.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stressed the importance of aggressive digital outreach. As AI platforms become key sources of information, governments and political actors are investing heavily to shape the narratives they produce.
