Israeli Settlers Rampage Across West Bank, Torch Homes and Vehicles, Attack Palestinians

Israeli settlers rampaged through villages and towns in the occupied West Bank for the second consecutive night, attacking Palestinians and setting homes and cars on fire, amid a surge in settler violence aimed at forcibly displacing Palestinians from their homes.

Occupied West Bank (QNN)- Israeli settlers rampaged through villages and towns in the occupied West Bank for the second consecutive night, attacking Palestinians and setting homes and cars on fire, amid a surge in settler violence aimed at forcibly displacing Palestinians from their homes.

At least nine Palestinians were injured in the rampage. A 45-year-old man was shot in the foot late on Sunday during a confrontation with Israeli settlers in Deir al-Hatab, east of Nablus, local sources said.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said that a 47-year-old Palestinian man was attacked by settlers in Jabal al-Arma in Beita, while others were beaten.

Earlier, Israeli settlers set fire to homes and cars in two areas south of Jenin and vandalised property across the occupied West Bank.

On Saturday night, settlet attacks took place at least six areas, including the villages of Silat ad-Dhahr and al-Fandaqumiya, both near Jenin; in Jalud and Salfit, both south of Nablus; and in the agricultural regions of Masafer Yatta and the Jordan Valley.

Sources reported that homes and cars were set ablaze, Palestinians were pepper-sprayed, and at least five people were wounded in the assaults, which took place during the Eid al-Fitr holiday marking the end of Ramadan.

According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, 25 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli settlers and soldiers so far this year. Six Palestinians have been shot dead in settler attacks in the West Bank since 1 March, according to official reports.

Attacks on Palestinians by settlers in the West Bank have risen dramatically since the start of the genocide in Gaza in October 2023.

According to an AFP tally based on Palestinian health ministry figures, Israeli forces or settlers have killed at least 1,050 Palestinians in the West Bank since the start of the Gaza war.

The attacks come as Israel’s security cabinet last month ratified a series of decisions pushed by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Defence Minister Israel Katz, enabling Israel to claim large areas of the occupied West Bank as “state property”. Amnesty International said the expansion of illegal settlements and state-backed settler violence in the occupied Palestinian territory were “a direct indictment of the international community’s catastrophic failure to take decisive action”.

In a report issued this month by the UN, the number of Palestinians forcibly driven from their homes by Israel in the occupied West Bank surged 25 percent between 1 November 2024 and 31 October 2025.

Over that period, more than 36,000 Palestinians were displaced. The report recorded 1,732 incidents of settler violence that caused casualties or property destruction, up from 1,400 in the previous reporting period - an increase of nearly 25 percent.

The attacks included sustained harassment, intimidation and the destruction of Palestinian homes, farmland and livelihoods.

“Settler violence continued in a coordinated, strategic and largely unchallenged manner, with Israeli authorities playing the central role in directing, participating in or enabling this conduct,” the report said, making it difficult to distinguish between state and settler violence.

Longstanding and pervasive impunity is “facilitating and encouraging violence against and harassment of Palestinians”, it added.
