Oman Expresses Regret Over US-Israeli Assaults on Iran, Blames Trump Administration

Oman expresses deep regret over the US-Israeli attacks on Iran and warns of dangerous regional fallout. Foreign Minister Badr Al Busaidi says diplomacy was close to securing a deal and urges Washington not to escalate further, stressing that “this is not your war.”

Muscat (QNN)- Oman voiced deep concern over the US and Israeli agression against Iran, warning that the escalation could trigger dangerous regional consequences.

In an official statement, Oman Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the Sultanate of Oman “expresses its deep regret” over the assaults carried out by Israel and the United States against the Islamic Republic of Iran. The ministry warned that the strikes risk expanding the conflict in ways that could destabilize the entire region, stressing that it is not the US's war.

Oman described the attacks as inconsistent with international law and the principle of resolving disputes through peaceful means rather than military confrontation and bloodshed.

The ministry called on all parties to immediately halt attacks. It also urged the United Nations Security Council to convene an urgent meeting to impose a ceasefire and for the international community to take a clear position in support of international law.

At the same time, Oman reaffirmed that states have the right to self-defense under international law, while stressing the need for restraint and renewed diplomatic engagement.

Foreign Minister: “This Is Not Your War”

Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi issued a sharply worded public reaction to the escalation.

“I am dismayed. Active and serious negotiations have yet again been undermined,” Al Busaidi said. “Neither the interests of the United States nor the cause of global peace are well served by this. And I pray for the innocents who will suffer.”

He added a direct appeal to Washington: “I urge the United States not to get sucked in further. This is not your war.”

Al Busaidi had appeared hours earlier on Face the Nation, where he stressed that diplomacy—not military force—offers the only viable path forward in the Iran nuclear dispute.

“I am confident… the peace deal is within our reach, if we just allow diplomacy the space it needs to get there,” he told moderator Margaret Brennan.

He added: “I don’t think any alternative to diplomacy is going to solve this problem.”

Oman has served as a key mediator in indirect talks between Washington and Tehran over Iran’s nuclear program. Al Busaidi said negotiators had already made “substantial progress” and warned that military escalation could derail a potential agreement.

“If the ultimate objective is to ensure forever that Iran cannot have a nuclear bomb, I think we have cracked that problem through these negotiations,” he said.

The foreign minister emphasized that a diplomatic framework remains achievable if talks continue without interruption.

However, Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, citing sources, said talks held with Iran were aimed at deception and preparing for an attack.
