A US State Department representative and Egyptian officials accompanied her during the visit. Jolie examined bottlenecks at the crossing, which remains closed despite a ceasefire.
Today, Egypt and six other countries called for international pressure on Israel to lift restrictions on humanitarian supplies into Gaza.
Local media said Jolie, 50, also visited logistics warehouses in Arish city, reviewing Egypt’s efforts to store and distribute aid. An Egyptian Red Crescent volunteer told her thousands of aid trucks wait at the border for Israel's permission to reach Gaza’s 2.2 million residents.
