Seven students Injured in settler attack on West Bank School; Israeli forces launch arrests against teachers following assault

Jericho, West Bank (Quds News Network)– Seven students and teachers were injured after Israeli settlers attacked Arab Al-Kaabneh Primary School in the Al-Ma’arajat area, northwest of Jericho, according to the Red Crescent. The assault was followed by a wave of arrests and raids conducted by Israeli forces, arresting the school’s teachers and principal.

The settlers, armed with sticks and sharp objects, stormed the school, attacking students and teachers. They also tied up the school’s principal, according to the Palestinian Bedouin Rights Organization, Al-Baydar. Hassan Mleihat, the organization’s supervisor, confirmed that armed settlers besieged the school, preventing parents from accessing the premises to safely remove their children.

Following the attack, Israeli soldiers raided the school, arresting the teaching staff. According to local reports, the arrests were justified by a settler’s claim that one of the teachers had injured him during the assault.

Mleihat also highlighted that this was the second attack on Arab Al-Kaabneh School since the academic year resumed just a week ago.

In related developments, the Israeli military conducted further raids across the West Bank, including an incursion into Hebron, where soldiers raided the home of Abdul Qader Al-Qawasmi, a Palestinian killed by Israeli forces. Special forces also entered the Dheisheh Refugee Camp, south of Bethlehem, resulting in clashes with local residents. Eyewitnesses reported Israeli snipers positioned on rooftops, leading to tense confrontations.

In Jerusalem, Israeli authorities arrested ten relatives of a man, who is accused of carrying out a stabbing attack at Damascus Gate.

According to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club, 20 Palestinians have been arrested since yesterday, including children and former prisoners. These arrests are part of a broader campaign of violence and raids by both Israeli settlers and the military.
