He Served in Israeli Military, Embassy Employee Killed in Washington Called UN Gaza Remarks ‘Blood Libel’
Washington (Quds News Network)- One of the Israeli embassy employees killed Wednesday in Washington had served in the Israeli military and called the UN’s remarks — warning that thousands of babies in Gaza could die within hours without humanitarian aid due to the Israeli blockade — a “blood libel”.
Two Israeli embassy employees, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim, were shot and killed Wednesday night near the Jewish Museum in Washington. The incident occurred during an event hosted by the American Jewish Committee.
The suspect, 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez from Chicago, reportedly shouted “Free Palestine” and “I did it for Gaza” as he surrendered peacefully to police. He has participated in various human rights campaigns, including Black Lives Matter.
The shooting comes amid Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza, which has killed over 53,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children. Israel continues to block aid into Gaza, causing famine and a deep humanitarian crisis. The genocide has sparked mass protests and rising public outrage around the world.
Ronen Shoval, an Israeli philosopher and author, said Yaron Lischinsky served in the Israeli army, which is currently committing genocide in Gaza.
Beloved Yaron Lishansky was my student at the Argaman Institute, a graduate of the Exodus Program.
A Christian who served in the IDF, and dedicated his life to Israel and Zionism.
A righteous soul who bound his fate to the Jewish people.
Tom Fletcher, the UN’s under-secretary-general for humanitarian affairs, issued a stark warning this week that 14,000 babies are at risk of dying within the next 48 hours if humanitarian aid does not reach them—a figure he described as “utterly chilling” amid the ongoing Israeli blockade of humanitarian aid from entering the enclave.
Shortly before his death, Lischinsky retweeted a post from Amir Weissbrod, former Israeli ambassador to Jordan and Deputy Director General for UN and International Organisations Division at the Israeli Foreign Ministry, in which he called the UN’s remarks a “blood libel.”

He also retweeted another post in which an Israeli diplomat described the UN warning as "blatant lies and disinformation."

On his X account, Lischinsky shared updates from the Israeli military announcing the launch of a new ground invasion and the expansion of its offensive under the “Gideon’s Chariots” operation. The plan aims to establish full Israeli control over the Gaza Strip, forcibly displace the entire population to a small area in the south, and provide Palestinians with only the minimal amount of food needed to keep them from starving.

He also shared remarks by Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz in which he said “If the Houthis continue to fire missiles toward the State of Israel, they will suffer painful blows...we will hunt down and eliminate Abdul-Malik al-Houthi in Yemen as we did with Deif, Sinwar and Nasrallah,” along with the caption: “Houthis have no idea who they are messing with.”
