Scottish Prime Minister lambasts British government for refusing Gaza ceasefire
London (Quds News Network) – In a scathing critique the Prime Minister of Scotland, Humza Yousaf, has both the government and opposition in Britain for their refusal to heed the call for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Yousaf cited the ongoing Israeli aggression since October 7th, which has claimed the lives of over 28,000 Palestinians, with the majority being women and children.
Yousaf tweeted, Keir Starmer and Sunak’s unwillingness to call for an immediate ceasefire will never be forgotten, nor forgiven.”
“The UK Government & Labour Opposition should hang their heads in shame as we witness a massacre that is killing thousands of women & children in front of our very eyes,” he continued.
The statement was accompanied by excerpts from a letter sent by the leader of the Scottish National Party, Stephen Flynn, to the British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and opposition Labour Party leader Keir Starmer. In the letter, Flynn urged them to support immediate calls for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Since October 7th, Israel has been conducting a devastating war on Gaza, resulting in over 28,000 fatalities and 70,000 injuries, with the majority being women and children.
The war in northern Gaza has forced the displacement of most residents towards the southern city of Rafah. However, Israel insists on carrying out a ground operation in Rafah, where over a million Palestinians are densely populated.
