Emotional Scenes as Palestinian Detainees Freed from Israeli Prisons in Swap Deal

Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- Israeli occupation authorities freed hundreds of Palestinian detainees on Thursday after a delay lasted for days, as part of the seventh prisoner exchange deal, under the first phase of the ceasefire agreement, after Hamas handed over the bodies of four Israeli captives from Gaza.

Nearly 500 Palestinians held in Israeli jails, including children and women, arrived this morning at the European hospital in Gaza as Israel releases the remaining 642 Palestinian detainees scheduled to be freed in the first phase of the ceasefire deal with Hamas.

Emotional scenes were also captured in the occupied West Bank as dozens of Palestinian detainees who had been serving life and long sentences reunite with their families. Israel deports 97 others to Egypt.

Earlier, Hamas handed over the bodies of four Israeli captives to Israel via the Red Cross. Israeli occupation authorities took the remains to the national forensic institute after conducting an initial examination. Israel has reportedly suspended the release of 24 Palestinian child detainees until the identities of the four Israeli captives are confirmed.
