Saudi Arabia proposes initiative to end Gaza war and resume normalization with Israel

Riyadh (Quds News Network) – The Israeli channel Kan has revealed an initiative put forth by Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries regarding the aftermath of the Israeli war on Gaza, which has been ongoing for 105 days.
According to the channel, the key element of the initiative is the resumption of normalization between these countries and the Israeli occupation. Saudi Arabia is reportedly attempting to entice Israel with a substantial reward – normalization with a key Arab and Islamic state – in exchange for halting the war in Gaza and the release of Israeli prisoners.
The Hebrew channel highlighted that Saudi Arabia seeks to capitalize on the opportunity to achieve calm across all fronts in the Middle East, from Yemen to Gaza, considering it an irreversible path towards establishing a Palestinian state.
Quoting the Financial Times, the channel reported that Europeans and the United States are aware of this Arab initiative.
The channel recalled its earlier report that Saudi Arabia has not abandoned the idea of normalization. They assert that the Saudis aim to move the Palestinian cause to the background, weaken Hamas, and other resistance movements in the region.
The channel stated that Saudi Arabia is striving to compete with other countries in the region, such as Qatar and Egypt, over its standing. According to the channel, there is an opportunity for Saudi Arabia to be the Arab-Islamic state that ends the war in Gaza, contributes to resolving the Palestinian issue, and thereby elevates its position in the region and the international community.
However, the Hebrew channel noted that the ball is in Israel’s court, and the term Palestinian state is a challenging one for the occupation. Therefore, the chances of success for this initiative are not substantial.
