Sanders: Netanyahu racist, US must be pro-Palestinian

United States (QNN)- Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders on Thursday evening called embattled leader Benjamin Netanyahu “a racist” and said the US must formulate a “pro-Palestinian” policy.
Senator Sanders (I-Vt.) made the remarks during a Democratic debate amongst 2020 presidential candidates that covered a wide number of issues.
When asked specifically about how he would manage relations with the occupation state and the Palestinians, he said that ‘Israel’ “has the right to exist in peace and security.” However, “what US foreign policy must be about is not just being pro-Israel. We must be pro-Palestinian as well,” he said.
Sanders sharply criticized Israel’s Netanyahu.
“We must understand that right now in Israel we have leadership who has been indicted for bribery, who, in my view, is a racist,” said Sanders, referring to Netanyahu’s corruption charges.
“My foreign policy will be about is human rights, is democracy, is bringing people together … trying to negotiate agreements, not endless wars with trillions in expenses.”
