San Diego teachers’ federation approves resolution calling out Israeli apartheid and war crimes

San Diego (QNN)- The American Federation of Teachers, which represents college teachers and staff in San Diego County, has approved a resolution condemning war crimes and apartheid committed by the occupation state of ‘Israel’.

The resolution condemns “the forced removal of Palestinian residents in West Jerusalem, the bombing of civilian areas in the besieged Gaza Strip, and the continued human rights violations committed by the Israeli government during its 73-year occupation of this land.”

At also noted that over 40 Jewish groups worldwide had signed a statement opposing the “dangerous conflation of anti-Jewish racism with opposition to Israel’s policies and system of occupation and apartheid.”

The resolution also said that “the absence of an evenhanded U.S. foreign policy, in addition to massive unrestricted military aid to Israel, emboldens Israeli militarism, contradicts our policy regarding the status of the occupation of the Palestinian lands.”

Regarding antisemitism in the United States, the resolution condemned anti-semitic attacks, but also stressing that condemning the occupation state for its ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, occupation, apartheid and war crimes is not anti-semitism.

The resolution called on the US government to pressure for an end to Israeli occupation and oppression against the Palestinian people.
