Rwanda to move its embassy to Jerusalem

Rwanda said that the relocation of its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem is under consideration, Yoaz Hendel, Israel’s Minister of Communication, told The Jerusalem Post on Saturday night.

Hendel’s office said, ” The minister made a request on behalf of Israel’s government to relocate the embassy.”
“The president responded that the topic is on the agenda,” Hendel’s spokesperson said.
Hendel met Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame in Rwanda’s capital of Kigali on Friday, to discuss several partnerships between Rwanda and ‘Israel’.

He also met Paula Ingabire, Rwanda’s Minister of ICT and Innovation and signed a Memorandum of Understanding which aims to boost the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and innovation sector.

In 2019, ‘Israel’ officially opened its embassy in Kigali, capital of Rwanda, with the aim to further strengthen bilateral ties.
