Russia intensifies search for body of Israeli spy in Syria

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- Russia has intensified its search for the body of the Israeli spy Eli Cohen in Syria due to Israeli pressure, reported Ynet.

The Israeli newspaper said Russian soldiers arrived in southern Damascus a few days ago to search for the body of the Israeli spy in the cemetery of Al Yarmouk refugee camp. The Russian grave exhumations stirred dissatisfaction among the locals of the refugee camp.

It added that the occupation state had already received bodies of Israeli soldiers buries in Syria after holding talks with the Russians.

The body of the Israeli soldier Zechariah Baumel was sent on an Israeli plane from Syria to a third country, possibly Turkey, then to the occupation state in March 2019.

Eli Cohen started his spying missions known as Kamel Amin Thabet in 1961. Over the years, he developed strong ties with Syrian officials and used them to obtain information and send it to the occupation state.
