Rights Group Pursues Israeli General in Italy over Gaza Genocide

Rome (Quds News Network)– The rights organization “Hind Rajab Foundation” has filed a legal request in Italy to arrest Major General Ghassan Alayan, a senior Israeli military official, according to the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.
The Brussels-based organization stated it aims to issue an arrest warrant for Alayan while he attends a “secret meeting” in Italy.

The group also submitted a complaint to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague and Italian authorities. It accuses Alayan of starving Gaza’s population.

Alayan currently serves as the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT). He previously commanded Israel’s Golani Brigade.

The Hind Rajab Foundation, based in Brussels, has gained international recognition for its legal efforts to hold Israeli soldiers and officers accountable for war crimes. Founded in February 2024, HRF honors the memory of Hind Rajab, a five-year-old Palestinian girl brutally killed alongside her family in an Israeli attack on their car in Gaza. Israeli soldiers targeted Hind’s family and even the medical personnel attempting to save her, ultimately taking her life in a harrowing sequence of attacks amid her appeals for help.

The organization seeks justice for victims and survivors of Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza.

The foundation has filed numerous legal complaints worldwide against Israeli military personnel. Israeli media recently reported an increase in international lawsuits targeting Israeli soldiers since the escalation in Gaza. While investigations have been launched in several countries, no arrests have been made to date.
