Resilient resistance thwarts Israeli advancements in Gaza despite massive destruction

Gaza (Quds News Network) – Despite the Israeli military’s assertions of progressing through different phases of the aerial and ground offensive in Gaza, the actual outcomes in northern Gaza contradict the original goals declared during the first phase.

Ground evidence suggests that, contrary to Israeli military claims of thwarting Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the Palestinian resistance has been successful in resisting Israeli advancements.

The Israeli aggression has so far resulted in a devastating toll, with nearly 100,000 Palestinians killed or wounded, constituting about 4% of the besieged Strip’s population.

Despite widespread destruction and numerous massacres, the resistance not only continues to repel Israeli forces but also frequently forces them to retreat.

This trend is particularly evident in northern Gaza and increasingly in the central part of the Strip. In the south, Israeli troops are encountering challenges breaking through the defenses of the resistance in the Khan Yunis area, with military assessments indicating it may take months to achieve this objective.

Below are selected statements issued by major Palestinian and Lebanese resistance groups on Sunday , January 7, regarding their activities in the battlefields of Gaza and Lebanon.

Al-Qassam (Hamas)

• Al-Qassam Brigades bombard enemy forces penetrating Al-Maghazi camp with heavy-caliber mortar shells.
• A Zionist troop carrier in Al-Maghazi camp was completely destroyed by Al-Yassin 105 shells.
• Al-Qassam Brigades target enemy troops infiltrating the Al-Mahatta area in Khan Yunis with mortar shells.
• Fighters confirm causing deaths and injuries among occupation soldiers, targeting two Zionist Merkava tanks, a military bulldozer, and detonating two tunnels and a minefield.

Al-Quds (Islamic Jihad)

• Simultaneous barrages of rockets target Nahal Oz, Sofa, and Holit.
• A barrage of mortar shells hits enemy vehicles and soldiers in the advancement axis in Al-Maghazi camp.
• The Al-Katiba area in central Khan Yunis is targeted with a barrage of 60-caliber standard mortar shells.

Hezbollah

• In support of Palestinians in Gaza, the Islamic Resistance targets enemy soldiers in the south of Al-Manara, achieving a direct hit.
• The Radar site in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms is targeted with a direct hit.
• A position of enemy soldiers in Al-Malikiyah is targeted, resulting in casualties.
• A tank at the Ruwaisat Al-Alam site is directly hit, burned, and destroyed.
• Enemy soldiers near the Metulla site are targeted, with direct hits causing casualties.
• The Shoumera barracks, Al-Marj site, and gatherings of enemy soldiers in the vicinity of the Mitat site are targeted with appropriate weapons, achieving direct hits.
• The Zarit Barracks are targeted with Burkan missiles, achieving direct hits.
