Report: Israel assassinated ex-PM Haniyeh by projectile

Tehran (Quds News Network)- According to Iran’s Fars News Agency, the former Prime Minister and head of Hamas’ political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, was assassinated by a projectile that struck his residence, causing significant damage to the roof and windows.

Investigations have confirmed that Israel planned and executed the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh.

The New York Times reported that US officials have secretly admitted Israel’s involvement in Haniyeh’s assassination in Tehran on Wednesday. Despite this, Israel has neither claimed responsibility nor commented publicly on the incident.

Parallel reports from The New York Times and Axios suggest that Israel was behind the assassination, but they claim the operation was carried out using an explosive device planted in Haniyeh’s room by Mossad agents, which was detonated remotely.

Earlier, sources told “Quds Network- Arabic” that Iranian security experts and authorities believe the assassination was likely carried out using an anti-tank missile fired from a nearby location. The building where Haniyeh was staying is a highly secure area guarded by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

Photos obtained by “Quds News Network” show that Haniyeh’s residence in Tehran is located in an open area surrounded by hills, trees, and mountainous terrain. Experts believe the missile was fired from a nearby hill, a distance that an anti-tank missile can accurately target.

Images of the room where Haniyeh was staying reveal extensive damage, with curtains drawn following the assassination that also claimed the life of his companion, Wasim Abu Shaaban.
