Quds News Network facing defamation: unmasking the covert war on truth
By QNN Editor-in-Chief
In the era of modern societies, a subtle menace lurks – covert armies of entities trained to target dissenting voices, launching attacks, spreading misinformation, and drowning them in waves of negativity.
This electronic warfare is not merely a virtual phenomenon but a tangible reality, inspired by the concept of “electronic flies” that some countries have adopted, creating genetically modified entities embodied in media outlets – television, print, and online.
A new breed of media manipulation has emerged, going beyond stereotyping and manipulation. A faction of journalists now wields destructive weapons instead of pens, lenses, and microphones, benefiting from generous support either from authorities or closely associated entities.
One recent campaign has taken aim at the Quds News Network, falsely accusing it of affiliations with Palestinian political organizations, sometimes Hamas, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and sometimes both. Rather than addressing the facts presented by the network in light of the relentless Israeli war of genocide on Gaza, this campaign seeks to defame the network professionally and smear its journalistic integrity.
These are some examples of tweets posted recently on X:
Symbolic execution squads make sure to inundate the public with misleading narratives, targeting restrained journalists and media figures, unleashing a barrage of defamation campaigns by repeating their lies time and again to make them sound true.
The so-called “journalism of assassination” exploits intelligence-provided databases to fabricate stories and scandals, disseminating them through their propaganda arms, enjoying support and protection.
Journalists and truth-committed news organizations worldwide face various forms of silencing, assassination, and character assassination, aiming to suppress them and prevent the disclosure of truths that condemn those in power, without legal support, pulling strings of power, influence, and wealth.
In some contexts, where political systems and their associated networks are keen on maintaining a soft mask over their harsh faces, those tasked with silencing journalists wear silk gloves, employing methods almost as effective as physical elimination.
The delicate threads of these gloves are woven in the factories of deep states and financial empires, silently bypassing newsrooms to kill troublesome pens and voices. These enemies of the press sit heavily on its breath with their massive bodies, holding a stick in one hand and a carrot in the other.
Various forms of symbolic killing and diverse recipes of poison and allure are presented on the media table, achieving the goal of overshadowing political and economic corruption issues and preventing the journalist’s hand from reaching the eyes of the public to reveal the truth.
Professional strangulation – the fatal blow
Journalists rebelling against the “rule” of conforming to editorial rituals imposed by a country’s official media outlets or those closely aligned with the authorities find themselves forced to put in double the effort compared to their colleagues working in the editorial rooms of these institutions.
Some political systems have discovered the magical effectiveness of this approach, allowing for the smooth disposal of troublesome journalists without any political burdens. The public and conservative society often take on the role of assassinating the targeted journalist, whether the accusations against them are true or fabricated.
As the shadows of electronic warfare cast their net wider, the defamation of Quds News Network stands as a testament to the evolving tactics of silencing inconvenient voices in the media landscape. As journalists navigate the treacherous terrain of modern information warfare, the battle for truth and journalistic integrity continues against the backdrop of new challenges and evolving threats.
