Qatar’s Emir: Israel Broke Ceasefire Agreement, No Peace Without Palestinian State with Jerusalem as Capital

Doha (Quds News Network)- Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani stated that Israel violated the ceasefire agreement reached months ago. He stressed that peace is impossible without a fully independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

He made the remarks during a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Thursday.

The Emir confirmed Qatar’s continued efforts to mediate a resolution to the genocide in Gaza. “We are working to bridge gaps and reach an agreement that ends the suffering of the Palestinian people,” he said.

He added that Qatar will keep working closely with Russia on critical regional issues.

Qatar’s leader also expressed strong support for Syria, saying President Ahmad Sharaa is keen to build relations with Moscow. He emphasized the importance of supporting Syria during this sensitive phase.

On bilateral ties, the Emir praised Qatar-Russia relations, describing them as strong and cooperative. “We value our relationship with Russia and discussed ways to develop it further,” he said.

President Putin commended Qatar’s diplomatic role in the Israeli-Palestinian talks. “Qatar is making great efforts to help resolve the crisis,” he stated.

Putin also reiterated his support for a two-state solution based on UN resolutions, adding that lasting peace must include a sovereign Palestinian state.
