Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association supports a bill that protects Palestinian children
United States (QNN)- The Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association (RRA) issued a statement in support of a bill that promotes the human rights of Palestinian children living under Israeli occupation.
"This bill, known as HR 2407, seeks to promote justice, equality and human rights for children globally by prohibiting any U.S. foreign aid dollars from contributing to "the military detention, interrogation, abuse, or ill-treatment of children in violation of international humanitarian law.""
The statements mentions reports by several human rights groups on the Israeli violations against Palestinian children.
The Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association was founded in 1974. “The RRA represents the rabbinic voice within the Reconstructionist movement, bringing the teachings, stories, and traditions of Judaism to bear on contemporary issues and challenges, and helping to define Reconstructionist positions on Jewish issues for our time,” reads the groups website.
Recently, the group has also released statements opposing a potential annexation of the West Bank and condemning the Netanyahu government’s decision to bar Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from entering Israel.
