Trump Agrees to Iran’s Conditions as 10‑Point Plan: What Are They?

Trump said he agreed to Iran’s 10-point plan. What exactly did Tehran demand?

US President Donald Trump has publicly acknowledged that he accepted conditions set by Iran, according to a post on social media. The announcement comes after weeks of escalating threats and brutal confrontation in the Middle East.

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council described the development as a major victory, saying it forced the United States to accept a 10-point proposal designed to end the conflict. The council said the agreement includes lifting all sanctions and releasing Iran’s frozen assets abroad.

The plan also demands full compensation for damages inflicted on Iran. American forces would withdraw from all bases in the region, according to the statement by the Supreme National Security Council. Iran insists the war against all elements of the Resistance Axis must end. Passage through the Strait of Hormuz would be coordinated with Iranian forces, the council added.

The statement said the agreement will be submitted to the United Nations Security Council for approval. Once passed, it would become binding international law. Final negotiations are scheduled to begin Friday in Islamabad to finalize the details of ending the war, despite mistrust of the US side.

The Ten Points in the Iranian Proposed Plan According to the Statement of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran:

  1. Coordinate passage through the Strait of Hormuz with the Iranian Armed Forces, granting Iran a decisive economic and geopolitical role in the strait.
  2. End the war against all components of the Axis of Resistance, which Iran presents as recognition of the failure of Israeli military operations.
  3. Withdraw US combat forces from all bases and military deployment points in the region.
  4. Establish an official security protocol for navigation in the Strait of Hormuz that ensures Iran a supervisory role under an agreed mechanism.
  5. Pay full war reparations to Iran based on a comprehensive assessment of the damages it has suffered.
  6. Lift all primary and secondary sanctions imposed on Iran.
  7. Cancel decisions issued against Iran by the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency as well as by the United Nations Security Council.
  8. Release all Iranian frozen assets and funds abroad.
  9. Approve these arrangements in a binding resolution issued by the UN Security Council.
  10. Convert the agreement into binding international law to ensure its implementation and consolidate Iran’s security and political gains.

The New York Times had previously reported that the proposal was delivered to the US via intermediaries. It guarantees that Iran will face no future military attacks and includes a halt to Israeli strikes on Hezbollah positions in Lebanon. In return, Iran would lift its blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

The plan also stipulates a fee of roughly $2 million per vessel passing through the strait. Revenues would be shared with Oman and reinvested in rebuilding infrastructure destroyed by previous US and Israeli strikes.

Previously, Trump had described the 10-point plan as a “significant step” but added that it was “not good enough.” Analysts say the president appears cornered after months of failed military threats and accumulating losses.
