Students across Gaza achieved remarkable academic results despite enduring two years of Israeli genocide marked by immense pressure, sleepless nights, continuous bombardment, and a suffocating aid blockade. The exams were held entirely online to overcome infrastructure challenges following the destruction of 27 schools and the deaths of over 16,000 students and 750 teachers, victims of the genocide. Despite the fragile ceasefire, families gathered together, almost all of them in tents and ruined homes, their eyes fixed on phone screens, hearts pounding, each hoping to be the first to access the ministry’s website and share the news with a jubilant cry. After two years of destruction and despair, joyful tears and celebrations finally returned.
“All praise be to Allah. After two years of sadness and loss, Omar has brought joy back to our hearts,” journalist Mahmoud El-Masri wrote, celebrating the birth of his younger brother.Displaced Palestinians celebrating the announcement of high school exam results in the Gaza Strip. pic.twitter.com/OfkUE8xzJH
