The victim, 21-year-old Saif Al-Din Kamel Abdul Karim Musallet, was beaten to death by a mob of settlers, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. He was from the nearby town of Al-Mazraa Al-Sharqiya.
Local sources say settlers ambushed a group of Palestinians and international activists heading to Khirbet Al-Tell in Jabal Al-Batin. They were trying to dismantle a new illegal outpost on Palestinian land.
The assault left at least 10 Palestinians injured, with some suffering fractures and serious bruises. One activist was reportedly run over by a settler. Settlers also attacked two ambulances, smashing their windows.
Violence erupted across the West Bank the same day.
In Hebron, Israeli settlers raided Palestinian homes in the village of Susiya. They threw stones and beat residents, injuring two who were rushed to Yatta Hospital.
In Bethlehem, settlers backed by Israeli soldiers attacked homes near Al-Maniya. They smashed windows in 10 houses in Wadi Sa’ir, terrifying families and children. The Palestinian Red Crescent treated several injuries, including a three-year-old girl hit in the head during a settler assault.
These attacks come amid a wave of settler violence, backed by the Israeli army. Rights groups warn that these assaults are part of a larger campaign to expel native Palestinians from their land and expand Israeli settlements by force.
