Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- Israeli officials have threatened that the military will reduce Gaza to "dust" if progress is not made soon in negotiations for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal. “We’ll do to Gaza City and the central camps what we did to Rafah. Everything will turn to dust,” the US-based Axios news outlet quoted a senior Israeli official as saying. “It’s not our preferred option, but if there’s no movement toward a hostage deal, we won’t have any other choice.” The report comes as US President Donald Trump claimed on Tuesday that Israel had agreed to the “necessary conditions” to finalise a 60-day truce and urged Hamas to accept the deal, warning on Truth Social that "it will not get better — IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE." There has been no official response from Israel or Hamas yet. Trump said representatives for Qatar and Egypt will deliver “this final proposal” to Hamas. Hamas has always said it is willing to free remaining captives in Gaza in return for a permanent end to the Israeli genocide and a full Israeli withdrawal from the devastated territory. Israel refused. It said the war can end only if Hamas is disarmed and its leadership agrees to go into exile. Israel’s ongoing assault has killed more than 56,500 Palestinians, mostly civilians, displaced almost the entire 2.3 million population and reduced much of the territory to rubble.
