Israel Is Accustomed to Killing Children, Including in Gaza: Iranian Foreign Ministry
Tehran (Quds News Network)- The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baghaei, stated that Israel is “accustomed to killing innocent children,” as in Gaza. The death toll from Israel’s attacks on Iran since Friday has risen to over 220, including 70 women and children. “It is the Zionist entity that is accustomed to killing innocent children, as they are doing in Gaza,” Baghaei told a news briefing in Tehran. He held up pictures of several civilian victims of Israeli attacks, including children, and shared their stories. He said the Israeli attacks on Iran are not a war against the country but “against humanity”. “It is a belligerence initiated by a criminal group, defying the international community and international law,” Baghaei said. “All those who believe in the peaceful co-living and all those who believe in the international law are required to take action, to put an end to these brutal, ruthless crimes, to pressure this Zionist entity and bring it to account.” Baghaei also called on “friendly countries” to step up their efforts for the passing of a binding resolution against Israel. “This is the first step to begin with, it must be declared to the whole world, it is a baseless belligerence,” he said, reiterating that Israel’s actions are “an utter violation” of international law. On Friday, Israel launched a large-scale attack on Iran, killing top military commanders and nuclear scientists, and striking military bases, nuclear sites and residential areas across the country. Iran has since unleashed a barrage of missile strikes on Israel in retaliation. The Iranian Health Ministry said early Monday that at least 224 people have been killed, 90 percent of them civilians, and 1,481 wounded since Israel attacked Iran. Meanwhile, Israel's genocide in Gaza has continued for more than 19 months, killing over 55,300 Palestinians, the majority of them women and children.
