“These are red areas under Israeli control. In normal circumstances, any Palestinian who goes there gets killed,” Basal said in a statement.
According to Basal, the very concept behind these distribution points is “inhuman from the start.” Palestinians face death at every turn — from bombing, from starvation, or from trying to get food.
“Those who don’t die under airstrikes die of hunger,” he said. “And those who don’t die of hunger are shot while trying to get food.”
Basal also confirmed that rescue teams cannot access these areas to retrieve the wounded or the bodies of the slain. “Our crews can never reach these places. They are off-limits, even in emergencies.”
His comments come amid growing outrage over Israel’s use of aid zones as tools of control and murder in Gaza. Human rights groups have increasingly raised alarm about the weaponization of hunger and the deadly conditions around Israeli- and US-coordinated food drop zones.
In Gaza today, seeking aid has become a deadly gamble — one many do not survive.
