Starving Civilians Storm UN Food Warehouse as Israeli Blockade Deepens Hunger Crisis
Gazan (Quds News Network)- In a desperate act of survival, a group of starving civilians in central Gaza broke into a UN World Food Programme (WFP) warehouse on Wednesday. The incident took place in Deir al-Balah and highlights the worsening humanitarian catastrophe caused by Israel’s ongoing blockade.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) confirmed the incident, adding that it has run out of food to distribute in Gaza. Its warehouses and aid centers stand empty, as thousands of aid trucks remain stuck at closed Israeli checkpoints.

"People are being forced to take desperate measures," said UNRWA. "This is the result of a man-made crisis."

"Our warehouses and distribution centers remain empty, while thousands of trucks loaded with aid await permission to enter Gaza."

Local authorities in Gaza also responded to the footage, which was used by Israel to spread misinformation. The Government Media Office stated that the incident was not linked to the government. They stated that Israel is responsible for the humanitarian collapse due to its systematic starvation policy and accused Israeli officials of spreading misinformation to avoid accountability.

“The claim that flour is hidden in government warehouses is a lie,” a government media statement said. “Israel itself banned WFP from distributing flour directly to families, forcing them to send it only to bakeries. This is what we call 'hunger engineering.'”

Israel has shut down Gaza’s border crossings for nearly 90 days, halting the flow of food, medicine, and fuel to over 2.4 million Palestinians. Aid agencies say some humanitarian deliveries have made it through, but they remain far from enough.

Gaza’s authorities also rejected Israeli efforts to take control of how and where aid is distributed. “We will not accept this,” the statement read.

As famine looms, Palestinian and UN officials are urging the international community to break its silence. They call for immediate pressure on Israel to open the crossings and end the weaponization of hunger.
