Israeli Forces Shoot Seven Syrians in Quneitra's Suwayse Village
Quneitra (Quds News Network)- Israeli forces shot seven Syrians during a raid in Suwayse village, located in Quneitra's countryside, on Wednesday. Syrian sources confirmed the injuries occurred amid rising military incursions in the area.
Israeli troops, supported by tanks and armored vehicles, stormed several villages in Quneitra. The military demanded locals surrender their weapons, threatening wide-scale searches. When residents refused, the forces launched raids, including in Suwayse.
Villagers protested the occupation forces’ presence. They gathered near military installations, waving Syrian flags. In response, Israeli forces fired at the peaceful demonstrators.
Residents reported that Israeli troops entered a military post in Suwayse, damaging infrastructure and cutting down trees. Another group advanced westward, continuing destruction and provoking more protests.
Israeli equipment, including bulldozers, was transported to strategic positions in the nearby Tal Al-Ahmar hills. Suwayse lies approximately 10 kilometers west of Jasem in northern Daraa.
Earlier this week, Israeli forces advanced into two villages in the Yarmouk Basin area of Daraa. Protesters in the village of Maaraba were also fired upon, leaving one person injured.
Israeli forces have occupied multiple villages in southern Syria, including Jumla and Maaraba, as well as areas in Rif Dimashq province. Locals have consistently protested, chanting slogans like “Leave, Israel!”
The Israeli military acknowledged firing at protesters. It stated: “During a demonstration opposing our activities in Maaraba, shots were fired to disperse the crowd, resulting in one injury.”

According to Israeli media, a northern command unit now oversees Al-Sheikh Mountain area, relying on reservists with experience in elite units.
