Gaza (Quds News Network)- The Israeli military’s ongoing genocide in Gaza has claimed the life of Palestinian journalist Mohammed Jaber Al-Qerainawi, along with his wife, Maram Khamees Al-Qerainawi, and their three children: Jaber, Sidra, and Ayat. Israeli warplanes targeted their home in the Al-Bureij refugee camp on Wednesday evening. Al-Qerainawi, a journalist at Sanad News Agency, is the latest media professional to be killed in the genocide. His death raises the toll of journalists killed since the genocide began to 195, according to the Gaza Government Media Office. The Government Media Office released a statement condemning the systematic targeting of Palestinian journalists. It described the attacks as an attempt to silence coverage of the war on Gaza. The statement also called on the international community to hold Israel accountable for its war crimes. “We hold Israel, the US, and their allies—such as the UK, Germany, and France—fully responsible for these brutal crimes,” the office said. It demanded international organizations take immediate action to protect journalists and ensure accountability for crimes against them. Israel’s military offensive in Gaza, now in its second year, has killed over 44,800 people, mostly women and children. International institutions have increasingly condemned the genocide. The International Criminal Court recently issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice. The killing of the Palestinian journalist Mohammed Al-Qerainawi and his family has intensified calls for urgent international intervention to stop Israel's violence and protect press freedom in Gaza.
