Israeli helicopter crash kills 3 soldiers, injures several others
Gaza (Quds News Network)- Israeli media has confirmed the deaths of three soldiers and the injury of several others following the crash of a military helicopter from the elite "669" unit of the Israeli Air Force. The crash, attributed to a "technical malfunction," occurred last night while the helicopter was on a rescue mission.
According to reports, three soldiers were killed, and eight others were injured, with four sustaining serious injuries. The helicopter was dispatched to rescue a soldier who had been shot by a sniper when the crash occurred.
Unit 669, known as the "Tactical unit for speical rescue" or "Combat Rescue Unit," is an elite division of the Israeli Air Force specializing in combat rescues on land, air, and sea. It is considered one of the top-tier units in the Israeli military.
In a related incident on Tuesday, the Israeli military reported that an officer, Golan Vach, was seriously injured after a tunnel collapsed near the "Netzarim" junction in central Gaza. The collapse caused a metal rod to penetrate his body, leaving him in critical condition.
