Israel launches double attack on two schools sheltering displaced people in Gaza
Gaza (Quds News Network)- Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes on two schools in Gaza, which used to shelter thousands of displaced citizens, resulting in at least 25 victims and dozens of injuries. The spokesman for the Civil Defense, Mahmoud Basal, told Al Jazeera that the situation in Gaza is catastrophic and that Israel's military targeted Al-Naser and Hassan Salamah schools in Gaza City. He added that 80 per cent of the casualties in the schools are children, noting that there no safe place in Gaza and that Israel does not respect any sanctities. "The occupation state wants to send a message to the Palestinians that they must leave Gaza", Basal added. Yesterday, Israeli fighter jets targeted Hamama School, sheltering displaced families in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City, with a series of airstrikes. The attacks completely destroyed the school, resulting in at least 15 deaths, including women and children, with several people still missing under the rubble. Last week, 31 Palestinians, most of whom were children, were killed and dozens injured due to an Israeli airstrike on a field hospital within Al-Sayyida Khadija School in Deir Al-Balah. The school, situated in a supposedly safe area, used to shelter thousands of displaced individuals and was hit by three missiles from Israeli warplanes.
