A quarter of high school students in Gaza killed by Israel
Gaza (Quds News Network)- During the conference announcing the results of the General Secondary Education Certificate Examination (Tawjihi) on Monday, the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Amjad Barham, said that 39,000 high school students from the Gaza Strip did not take the exam this year. Out of those, 10,000 were killed, along with 400 teachers, by Israel.
Barham added that "there is no overall pass rate because the number of students is incomplete," due to the killing of 10,000 students in Gaza and the inability of the remaining students to take the exams amidst the genocide being waged by the Israeli occupation on the Gaza Strip for the past 10 months.
According to the Government Media Office, the Israeli army has completely destroyed 117 schools and universities, while partially destroyed 332 schools and universities in Gaza. Additionally, the Israeli occupation army has killed more than 107 scientists, university professors, and researchers.
At least seven Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip since last night, as Israel continues to violate Trump’s so-called ceasefire agreement — killing hundreds of civilians and blocking desperately needed aid from entering the enclave.
British Health Secretary Wes Streeting privately said in 2025 that Israel was “committing war crimes before our eyes” and carrying out “ethnic cleansing” in the Gaza Strip, and that he supported imposing sanctions on Israel.
