Israeli aggression deprives 300,000 students of their right to education – UN
Jerusalem (Quds News Network) – The head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, the UNRWA, Philippe Lazzarini, said today that the ongoing Israeli aggression against Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip has deprived as mnay as 300,000 students of getting education and attending schools.
Lazzarini said on X that 'In northern Gaza, once vibrant schools now lie in ruins… Heartbreaking images of UNRWA schools severely damaged or destroyed by this brutal war."
"More than 300,000 girls and boys who used to learn in UNRWA schools now grapple with the harrowing war. Their education abruptly stopped, their sense of safety shattered," UNRWA's head noted.
Lazzarini also slammed those calling to dismantle UNRWA, stressing that Palestinian children deserve support to rebuild their lives.
"Those who call for dismantling UNRWA are depriving deeply traumatized children of any hope for a better future. Children deserve better, they deserve the stability and support they so desperately need to rebuild their lives."
A nine-year-old girl, born after years of struggle, finally returned to school in a tent built over Gaza’s ruins. Moments later, a single sniper’s bullet ended her life, turning a place of learning into a scene of loss and grief.
Nickolay Mladenov claimed that hundreds of aid trucks entered the Gaza Strip on Thursday, attributing the development to the efforts of the so-called Trump “Board of Peace.” Palestinians, however, disputed the claim, asserting that Israel continues to impose restrictions on aid entry despite the ceasefire.
