Israeli authorities approve construction of new Jerusalem settlement
Occupied Jerusalem (QNN)- The Israeli planning and construction committee of the Municipality of occupied Jerusalem approved a plan to construct a new settlement in north Jerusalem.
The Israeli seventh channel reported on Wednesday that the new settlement included the construction of over one thousand units in addition to hotels and public infrastructure.
It added that the plan includes the construction of commercial areas. 1200 dunums of Palestinian lands will be used for the project.
Iran says it forced a US destroyer to retreat from the Strait of Hormuz after issuing direct threats, while Washington denies any confrontation, deepening tensions in a key global oil route.
Israel is “systematically and deliberately weaponizing starvation” against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip by restricting and controlling the entry of goods, exacerbating the suffering of over two million Palestinians after two years of genocide.
Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel’s far-right National Security Minister, stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem on Sunday for the second time in a week, in a provocative move following Israel’s 40-day closure of the holy site to Palestinians.
