2 Palestinian prisoners on hunger strike for 37 days
Hebron (QNN)- Palestinian prisoners Oudeh Al Hroub and Hassan Iwewi from Hebron completed on Wednesday 37 days of hunger strike, protesting administrative detention. The Palestinian Prisoners club said in a statement on Wednesday that the Israeli Prison Service transferred the prisoners several times to different jails despite of their very poor health conditions, after 37 days of hunger strike. Al Hroub (32 years old), a father of ten children, was arrested in last December, while Iwewi (35 years old), a father of three children, was arrested in last January. Both arrested under administrative detention. Administrative detention is incarceration without trial or charge, alleging that a person plans to commit a future offense. It has no time limit, and the evidence on which it is based is not disclosed. Israel employs this measure extensively and routinely, and has used it to hold thousands of Palestinians for lengthy periods of time.
