Berlin (QNN)- A Palestinian journalist and TV host has been facing a smear campaign and accusations of anti-semitisim over participating in a pro-Palestine march in Berlin in 2014. 28-year old Palestinian journalist and activist Nemi El-Hassan has been facing accusations of anti-semitism over participating in Al-Quds Day march in Berlin in 2014 when she was 19 years old. The Al-Quds Day or Jerusalem Day was initiated in 1979 by the then Iranian revolutionary leader Ayatollah Khomeini to denounce Israel's 1968 occupation of Jerusalem and express solidarity with Palestinian people. This day is an official holiday in Iran and held each year on the last Friday of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan to remember the Palestinians. In 2014, in the light of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, when 'Israel' killed 2,251 people, and wounded more than 11,000, Nemi participated in Al-Quds Day march which aimed to show solidarity with the Palestinians that time. The smear campaign against Nemi was led by the infamous pro-Israel Bild newspaper followed by massive incitement campaign from zionists, pro-Israel, right wing-AFD supporters and others using the hashtag #Nemi_El_Hassan. "I didn't realize that these demonstrations were brought into being by the Iranian regime," Nemi said.
