Factions call for protests to defend Ibrahimi mosque
Occupied Hebron (QNN)- National and Islamic factions in Hebron called for protests to defend the Ibrahimi mosque from Israeli plans to change its features.
The manager of the Ibrahimi mosque, Sheikh Hifthi Abu Isneineh, told QNN that Israeli vehicles leveled lands next to the holy mosque today in preparation for constructing a settler-only elevator and road inside the mosque.
Meanwhile, The director of the endowments of Hebron, Jamal Abu Iram, said "if the occupation's Judaization project succeeds, the Ibrahimi mosque will be ruined."
"The plan is very dangerous and it aims at changing the religious and historic features of the mosque, ignoring international law as the mosque is at the UNESCO's World Heritage List."
"We call on everyone to come and pray at the mosque in order to defend it from the occupation and its settlers", he added.
