Ramallah (QNN)- The Israeli army on Friday arrested Sheikh Saeed Armi Jarbah from his house in Deir Jarir in Ramallah.
Local sources said an Israeli force stormed the house of the elderly man, described by locals as the "Sheikh of the mountain", and vandalized it before taking him to an unknown place.
No charges have been made against the Sheikh so far but he was filmed last week confronting Israeli forces during an Israeli raid into the village.
During several interviews with local and international media outlets, he said that he joined his village's youths to defend his land and other lands of the village, where settlers have recently created a settlement outpost, confiscating nearly 18 dunums.
"I decided to join the youths.. They made a small sling for me and I was very emotional because of the deep wound inside of me after my people and I lost our land", Sheik Armi said. "I did not fear the occupiers nor to be shot, this was not even a concern because after losing our land we will be worthless."
