Mladenov calls for investigating in Israel's killing of Palestinian child
Jerusalem (QNN)- Nickolay Mladenov, UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, condemned Israeli occupation forces killing of the Palestinian child Ali Abu-Alayya.
Ali Abu-Alayya, 13 years old, was shot dead and critically injured by Israeli occupation forces during clashes in the village of al-Mughayir, near the city of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank on Friday night.
Mladenov tweeted, "Appalled by the killing of a 15 year old Palestinian boy, Ali Abu Alaya, near Ramallah today."
He also called for investigating this "shocking and unacceptable incident," stating that children enjoy special protection under international law.
"Israel must swiftly and independtly investigate this shocking and unacceptable incident. Children enjoy special protection under international law and must be protected from violence," Mladenov said.
