Ramallah (QNN) - The Israeli occupation authorities continue to detain two Palestinian, Jerusalemite women, Fadwa Hamada and Jihan Hashim, despite their suffering from different diseases. Fadwa Hamadeh, sentenced for 10 years, has been detained since 2017, while Jihan Hashima, sentenced for four years, has been detained since 2016. Both of the prisoners suffer from injuries sustained by Israeli bullets. Jihan Hashima, who was shot at Qalandya checkpoint on December 30, 2016, was imprisoned without charges. She is supposed to be released at the end of this year. "Jihan was shot in her left leg with three bullets. The pain still hits her until today," Jihan's husband told QNN. The husband added that Jihan also has several chronic diseases that worsen the already bad detention conditions. Fadwa Hamadeh, on the other hand, was detained on August 8, 2017 near the Damascus Gate in the occupied Jerusalem. Monther Hamadeh, husband of Fadwa told QNN, "knowing about Fadwa's detention was not easy for our five children, who have been deprived from their mother without any reasons." "What did my wife do to be sentenced to ten years in jail?" he added. Currently, there 43 Palestinian women in Israeli prisons, including 17 mothers.
