West Bank (QNN)- Israeli settlers set large areas of land in the Sawiyah village and the Jordan Valley on fire. Local and media sources said settlers from the illegal settlement of Rahalim set agricultural land of the Sawiyah village in Nablus on fire, burning vast areas of crops and olive trees. Meanwhile, Israeli bulldozers leveled more land in the village of Huwwarah in Nablus to construct a 7-km-long settlement road that would facilitate grabbing 406 dunums of Palestinian land. Ghassan Daghlas, a PA official responsible for the settlement file, said that for the third day on a row, Israeli bulldozers have been leveling land in Huwwarah and uprooting olive trees to construct a settlement bypass road that was approved along with other roads by the Israeli government in 2014. Daghlas added that the agricultural sector would sustain large losses as the Israeli project will lead to the uprooting of over 2800 olive trees and the grabbing of nearly 406 dunums from the villages of Burin, Huwwarah, Bita, Awarrta, Yitma, Sawiyah, and Yasouf in southern Nablus. In the same context, Israeli settlers set hundreds of dunums in the Jordan Valley on fire last night. The director of civil defense in Tubas, Hilal Hammad, said four crews from Tubas and Jenin dealt with the fire that engulfed hundreds of agricultural land pastoral land in Um Qiba in the Jordan Valley.
